If I Were a Bad Person

BTW, this post written by The Vidiot, who accidentally logged on as Mr. Vidiot when she wrote it. Durrr.

And by bad, I mean “member of the power elite” bad, then I would view the recent cuts in internet service to nearly THE ENTIRE MIDDLE EAST as a great opportunity to start a war. I mean, with all those pesky bloggers off-line, everyone would have to rely on that the mainstream media had to say about it. And since the mainstream media gets its information from “official sources,” then the only news out there would be the “official news.” Perfect.

Update: I'm not the only one who's suspicious.
Unprecedented mass Internet outages throughout the Middle East and Asia after no less than four undersea Internet cables were cut without explanation are spurring suspicions that a major event of geopolitical proportions may be just around the corner.
Also, it's happened before, this cutting of the lines of communication. In reality
At the outset of the war, the Germans had five transatlantic cables that ran through the English Channel. One went to Brest in France, another to Vigo in Spain, one to Tenerife in North Africa and two to New York via the Azores. The English cable ship Telconia cut them all in England's first offensive action in the war.
and in the movies.

Sio Bibble: "A communications disruption can mean only one thing - invasion."
From Star Wars: The Phantom Menace - 09:21 into the movie.

And there's also a trigger.
The long-awaited Iranian Oil Bourse, a place for trading oil, petrochemicals and gas in various non-dollar currencies, will soon open.

Iran's Finance Minister Davoud Danesh-Jafari told reporters the bourse will be inaugurated during the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution (February 1-11) at the latest.
And finally, lest we forget, next week is the New Moon and we all know how much armies LOVE to start wars during a new moon.
