Skating away, skating away, skating away on the thin ice of a new day…

posted by Bill Arnett @ 3:27 PM Permalink

…(Jethro Tull)

The thin ice upon which America has been skating for decades has grown very thin indeed. Our legislative branch of the government is essentially useless, the same faces spouting the same rhetoric about phony bipartisanship has created a total gridlock. Our judicial branch is still aiding in this perfidy by hearing ever more bogus charges of vote-fixing or voter fraud, Obama's citizenship, don't ask-don't tell, and, during the bush era, seemed to tailor their rulings to conform with bush's desire to return to the Nixon days where, "…if the president does it it's not illegal…," and, further, aided the bush administration by allowing draconian legislation limiting our civil rights, rights to privacy, the right to expect that our homes will be inviolate unless a valid bench warrant has been approved by a judge after a review to assure there is probable cause for that entry into our domain, and the wiretapping of our calls overseas and observing our internet usage.

Now the teabagger-gop-ers have devolved to outright blackmail: If you won't blow up the budget with another 700 billion dollar shortage caused directly by more tax breaks for the wealthiest class in America, we will make sure all the unemployed will starve over Christmas by refusing to pass the legislation necessary to keep their benefit checks coming in.

I'm sure in the idyllic little vermin minds of republican leaders all those collecting benefits must be illegal aliens and democrats too used to the welfare state to go out and find a non-existant job that will support a family, but I think (hope) that the republicans standing out there in the dole lines will certainly recognize that that is not the case at all.

So for all the republicans returning to office asinine leadership that values your worth at ZERO, that would rather see you starve instead of living on the pittance the government might mete out, may you finally realize that a vote for a republican is a vote for misery and suffering for the poor, the infirm, those choosing between medicine and food, those losing their homes and all the rest of the seeming punishment of the poor for having defied the will of the rich, old, white man party called the KKK…er…gop.

Yes the Grand Old Party working hard with their allies, Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Oil, and Big Assholes is blackmailing America without regard to the disaster brought upon this once proud nation that has been reduced to the playground of a political part that doesn't want to rule. They don't give a damn about ruling; witness the bush train wreck that almost destroyed America, made us the laughingstock of the world and, now, the Wikileaks show that other world leaders view us as their lapdog, easily goading our leaders into ever more terrible adventures.

No, they give not a twit for leading a formerly great nation back to greatness. No, they want to get the nation so drunk on the swill they produce that they can bend Lady America over a park bench, ravish and ravage her as they continue to loot America.

I do have just one question for these nutjobs: When the government of America collapses from within do you honestly believe all those dollars you are amassing at the expense of every citizen will be worth damn? That other nations will go crazy buying up more and more of America until the day our new foreign masters cast you aside like the used whore, Ameria, that you have kicked aside time and time again.

One is easy to handle with a regimen of penicillin, the other, apparently like a lingering infection of penicillin-resistant gonorrhea carried by and passed about among the teabaggers and gop-ers who cheat on their wives, mistresses, teenage boys and girls, and half-crazed, mutant, family-only bunny rabbit-like rapid breeders, and those who breathe through their mouths.

The gop-ers are already back-peddling and beginning to back away from the teabaggers, something I very much wish they would not do unless they continue with their ridiculous desire that Sawah Pale-one be their presidential candidate in 2012. I believe all Americans owe it to themselves to pledge to do everything within their power to insure the Pale-one is the candidate to which all the religious right-wing nuts, bigots, racists, misogynous, homophobic followers are sure to pledge their loyalty.

In 2012, switch parties briefly in order to vote for Sawah's nomination and then change back at your voter's registrar's office or simply vote against every republican on the ticket, starting at the top. Tell every pollster that might call that your rootin' tootin' fer sure voting for Sawah, no one else can save us.

gop-er leaders are ready making their contributions to enshrine Sawah and erect statues in her honor with all the brick-shitting they are doing now at the very though of such a scenario.

So get the word out that it's Sawah all the way and help a hardworking comedienne, Miss Tina Fey, continue to prosper leading up to the election and Sawah's crushing defeat (and no, "crushing de-feat is NOT a new big brave hunter's trick to disable wolves by crushing their feet so they can only hobble, and therefor, make an easier target of the wolfs to be shot from the safety of small airplanes in order to live as our ancient ancestors did).

Excerpt: If you don't want to pass through an airport scanner that allows security agents to see an image of your naked body or to undergo the alternative, a thorough manual search, you may have to find another way to travel this holiday season.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is warning that any would-be commercial airline passenger who enters an airport checkpoint and then refuses to undergo the method of inspection designated by TSA will not be allowed to fly and also will not be permitted to simply leave the airport.

That person will have to remain on the premises to be questioned by the TSA and possibly by local law enforcement. Anyone refusing faces fines up to $11,000 and possible arrest.

Christ, I need a drink or a laugh.

Sounds like an awesome movie to me.

The Finnish sci-fi comedy 'Iron Sky' centres on real-life SS officer Hans Kammler who was said to have made a significant breakthrough in antigravity experiments towards the end of WW2.

The film relates how, from a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late 1945 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne – Black Sun – on the dark side of the Moon.

This base was to to be used to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right, in this case 2018.

…will put an end to the naked scanning rapidly gaining support among governments and airlines. By this I mean that when the first illegally taken NAKED pictures (and oh, yes, there will be cases of TSA employees taking illegal photographs) of:

A mega-rock star, male or female,
Famous or infamous politicians,
A fabulously wealthy diva,
Playboy bunnies or the male equivalent (especially in a turgid state),
Any completely innocent extremely beautiful female or male,
A future or past First Lady or Former President,
Any elected or former Representative or Senator,
Any sitting Justice of SCOTUS or the many appellate courts,

and any number of other types of people (Play along! How many others can YOU think of?) surfaces and drives public and political outrage to a white-hot feeding frenzy in the MSM, X-rays exposing the entire naked body will cease.

Myself, I think that, purely in the interest of National Security y'know, every single Representative, Senator, and President should be required to 'strut their stuff' in full frame naked glory and be photographed down to the most minute detail of their naked bodies.

National Security should require this in the name of protecting America. And to let them feel AND SEE IN ACTION the gross violation of personal privacy.

"The Beatles were the Beatles because they spent ten thousand hours playing German strip clubs…"

posted by Bill Arnett @ 1:52 PM Permalink

"…and, as a result, became the Beatles." Source Unknown [I remember now that it was Jimmy Page in a special with Jack Black and Slash that said this in, It Might Get Loud. Bill]

This quote, and others similar in intent and meaning, used to always serve me well whenever I might be discussing how to be a better street cop, or pianist, or gymnast, or bounty hunter, or excel at virtually any type of endeavor, but politics and politicians seem to have some kind of built in brain entropy that seems to me, for the most part, means that the longer anyone spends in elected public service the more entrenched they become in the 'old way,' and that lends itself to a devolution of ideas and progress instead of leading the person into becoming a Beatle, a political rock star, the Rocky of the political ring, the Seabiscuit of Triple Crown fame.

What is truly remarkable is how much shorter the time has come for a politician to attempt founding his own patronage and fiefdom and the outright arrogance in their manner of attempting to seize hold of and control a particular arm of government to the end of gaining control of as much money as possible to send back to their home states as 'earmarks' which until recently had become a dirty word.

"Stop the earmarks, decrease taxes on the ubёr wealthy, cut spending, increase defense spending, cut social programs, eliminate social security, eliminate health care, get rid of Medicare, no abortion…," all these and more used to be the rallying cry of Clan GOP.

Then the 'Teabagging' Party came along, made lots of noise with all the standard bromides to establish their 'conservative credentials', leading the GOP to eat some of their own young and withdraw support from some GOP Establishment candidates in favor of this seemingly popular with the masses party. I think it is a move that they are perhaps regretting already.

Look how they flatly threw Lisa Murkowski overboard without so much as a rotten plank of wood to keep her afloat against her primary challenger Joe the Plumber…uh…Joe I'll-Spare-Him-the-Humiliation-of-Further-Identifying-Him, yet she not only survived, she has won; although the other Joe won't admit it.

My question: With whom, or what party, will she caucus? She initially ran as Republican, but after the throat-slitting done her by Republicans does anyone expect that she will caucus with that party? Will she caucus with Independents who mostly caucus with the Democratic Party, or will she just forthrightly declare that she will change her alliance altogether to the Democratic Party?

And in the meantime we now have the delicious satisfaction of watching already feeling entitled Teabaggers openly declaring that , "…earmarks are good and we won't ours NOW!" A spit in the eye of the GOP Establishment's almost rabid, visceral, reflexive rants that earmarks are b-a-a-d and must be stopped. What a delightful circus for public consumption! Earmarks bad, earmarks good, earmarks are to enrich Teabaggers, earmarks are the bane of the GOP.

They're [earmarks] good! They're bad! They're good! They're bad! Oh, hell, let's just call the whole thing off.

Me? I'm gonna just sit and watch the fun of an already archaic party that has done naught but harm America for the last forty years or so (minus a couple of brief moments of sanity, Democratic presidents, and budgetary surpluses). The GOP bet a large part of the farm that they could draw or split votes by using the Teabaggers as stalking horses.

They just didn't know how voracious and insatiable the Teabaggers really are and that they would now have to split their assets and votes in an effort to rein in those stalking horses.

That sees to be the internet meme of the day.

Now, I'm not sure it would work. Only because with enough warning, like a slowly ramping-up internet meme, they could dump their short positions in time to curb their losses.

But now the Chinese are saying silver is a mighty fine investment.

And when you take into consideration that the G20 meeting is not going well and might be descending into a currency war, that China has downgraded US debt and that, of late, China has been MSM's go-to bogeyman, maybe this silver thing is the first big salvo across the bow.

Just speculation on my part but hey, it makes sense.

Who knows what evil lies in the hearts of men?…

…the Teabagger Shadow of the Gop does!

In a daring stratagem the teabaggers have managed to get themselves elected in small numbers by the republican party, gop, conservative, religious right, mouth-breathing neocons, or whatever appellation they are using today in an attempt to "…cloud the minds of men…" vίs-a-vίs the Shadow, the alter-ego of Lamont Cranston, millionaire industrialist, who travels the world while the Shadow borrows his persona and makes use of the services of his loyal secretary Margo Lane to aid the Shadow in his efforts to stamp out the evil in men's minds.

I sense now…no…I am somehow telepathically connected to the Shadow as he reveals the secrets he has learned of the criminal cabal composed of the above-mentioned political parties now joined at the hip following last election.

The Shadow has agreed to meet with me at Pier 74 of the Long Beach Port, Long Beach, California, and speak freely with me as long as I don't reveal his secret identity, Lamont Cranston. I agreed. the interview follows:
Me: Mr. Crans-oop!-is it 'the' Shadow or just 'Shadow'?
He: Just 'Shadow will suffice, but if I may give you some advice, slip up on my name twice and the consequences will not be nice.
(I kept trying to search for his face, barely visible in the doom and gloom of this chosen meeting place, but alas, it was too dark for me to locate my own ass.)
Me: You claim that the teabaggers and the republicans are already going to split the sheets over earmarks republicans consider vile and indiscreet, but which the 'give-me-mine-and-do-it-now' teabaggers consider all too sweet.
He: This is true and very, very sad, the repercussions will be bad as the people, especially republicans, realize that they have been had. All this time the teabaggers could have been working with Democrats instead of pretending to be their harshest critics, worse even than Blue Dog Democrats voted out of office before they could even pull out the bloodsucking ticks of lobbyists and pull off any last bullshit tricks designed to ascribe blame for everything to the Democratic body politic.
Me: I'm not quite certain that is what I have seen, but oh yeah, the talk has always been meant to blaspheme. But why would the teabaggers vent their spleens against everything, just to be mean, then turn around with a new head of steam geared toward biting the hand that supported, nurtured, gave legitimacy to to their dream?
He: By using my power to cloud men's minds and my remarkable ability to manipulate my face muscles at will, I was able to penetrate their parties, and what I found there was enough to make even me scared, enough that my spine felt a certain chill. The teabagger-gop alliance was no alliance at all, it was simply an alignment of political heretics, a criminal cabal created, devised by the gop to see democrats fall; nothing but political dirty tricks to fool the electorate, to confuse them all, and now, 10 days after the election we can see in just what direction these teabagging frauds were led, the bullshit they were fed, and now we witness the true teabagger intentions to pass as many 'earmarks', legalized dividing of the spoils they neither earned nor deserve, showing, if nothing else, that they have a lot of damn gall and nerve to mislead even the party that helped them most and whom, if the teabaggers get their way, will someday be long forgotten ghosts.
Me: Wow. That really had not occurred to me. What do we do now?
He: Shadow is not the only amorphous entity observing politics today, the cowards running the plays, the good people who know not what to do, and the capable leaders shown the bottom of teabaggers' shoes. But it's ok, the pendulum always swings the other way, and there will be a better day, so shall it be as I say.
Me: But, wait, what happens when the pendulum does swing the other way? How will we know?
He: The politicians will be running for the hills as evermore corruption is uncovered. People may finally realize the import of the fact that the top 5% of taxpayers OWN more than the entire bottom 95% combined. They will recognize that it takes a corruption so complete, so sophisticated, so pure in its form, and older than time to amass fortunes so great and the fear and loathing of the people will eventually lead to reticence, demands for explanations, and demands that no representatives or senators advantage themselves to ever greater wealth while serving. People see public offices as a vehicle to get rich! City Councilmen paying themselves salaries of hundreds of thousands of dollars, concealed so well instead of raising a holler the taxpayers wind up living in squalor.
Me: But how can we fix this?
He, slowly vanishing into the gloom of dark: Don't ask me, kid. I just know what evil lurks in the hearts of men…
He, now totally invisible, voice echoing: G-o-o-d l-u-c-k, k-i-i-i-i-d!
I do get his point, politics is officially and strictly for the rich. Billion dollar presidential elections, million dollar gubernatorial races, hundreds of thousands, coming soon, to run for city dogcatcher. How can an ordinary citizen beat a system so stacked against them?

Poor people need not seek a place in politics since those very same poor people are being squeezed tighter and tighter, as in a vice, to bleed them dry so a rich man need not be forced to look upon their desiccated corpses carried away by the poor in his employ, whom can only be thankful that they have a job.

Ciao.

A lesson for Americans

This is not outrage.
Amazon.com has yanked an e-book written for pedophiles from its Kindle store following a wave of complaints and boycott threats. "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct" still appears in Amazon's search results for the phrase "pedophile guide." But clicking on the link of the book's title now triggers an Amazon page that states: "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site."

THIS is outrage.
Student demonstrators brought violence to London's streets yesterday on a scale not seen since the poll tax riots of 20 years ago. The ferocity of the protest ended the high hopes of a new era of consensus politics, promised by David Cameron when he took office exactly six months ago.It is expected to be the first of many angry demonstrations as the impact of the Government's cuts is felt. More than 50,000 people brought Westminster to a standstill with a peaceful march past Parliament to protest against the proposal to increase tuition fees to up to £9,000 a year.

But the demonstration turned nasty when a crowd smashed its way into the Conservative Party's headquarters in Millbank, cheered on by hundreds more outside. Terrified Tory staff barricaded themselves in their offices as demonstrators roamed the building. Those trapped inside included Baroness Warsi, the party's chairman, who kept in telephone contact with the police outside as furniture was thrown through windows, the interior was trashed and a ceiling was pulled down. A fire extinguisher was thrown off the roof at police in the crowded courtyard below.

This story about a rat infested home in Pennsylvania:
A western Pennsylvania home will be demolished because it is so overrun with rats that they measure about a foot deep in spots. Officials in Pulaski Township said the home has been a problem in the neighborhood for about a year.
...
The Beaver County Times reported that an exterminator hopes to kill about 95 percent of the rats before the home is demolished Friday. Officials will erect a perimeter around the home to try and prevent any rats that survive from going into neighboring homes.
Made me think it was a brilliant and subliminal reference to what we need to do with all the rats in D.C. (And yes, do barricade DC so the rats couldn't flee to their home districts.)

Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that I went around taking money out of people's wallets. I pretended to have the authority to do so, people believed me, handed me their wallets, I emptied it of all its cash and handed it back to them. Obviously, the people consented, but I was still taking their money using only my manufactured authority. They were fooled or coerced in some way, but they still consented and I still took their money. They thought that it was working out for them because I wasn't beating them up, everyone else was doing it and I had somehow convinced them the empty wallet was actually an asset; I hadn't taken their credit cards or their drivers license. Just the money.

After a while though, folks would get pretty pissed that I was taking their money. Additionally, when folks didn't have any money in their wallets, THEN I'd beat them up and take their credit cards and ID. General unpleasantness ensued and folks started screaming for my head. The "real" authorities, however, saw what I was doing as good 'ole American ingenuity. Not only that, they really appreciated that I gave them a percentage of my weekly take. So what did they do? The decided to give me that ACTUAL authority to do what I was doing. In addition to that, they made that decree retroactive so that all the money I had taken before, which obviously included the money I had given them, was in the free and clear and I could proceed with my business, unhindered by such things as lawsuits and arrests.

Of course, this scenario sounds incredibly silly, right? Surely aspects of it are, but....
After years of negative judicial decisions about the use of a straw-man on mortgages, MERS was about to lose its existence as well as its credibility. But now all of that is set to change as Wall Street money is pouring into the coffers of those who are receptive (i.e., almost everyone in Congress). The legislation is already being drafted under the interstate commerce clause to ratify MERS and everything it did retroactively. It appears that the Obama administration is ready to pardon all the securitization deviants by signing this bill into law. This information is corroborated by several people who are in sensitive positions — persons who would be the first to know such proposals.

Let's get something straight

posted by The Vidiot @ 2:55 PM Permalink

I fully understand that celebrities are manufactured entities, for the most part. None of them look as good in person as they do on the screen. None of them are as smart in person as they're made out to be on a talk show. They're not anything like anybody thinks they are. Even the ones who perform live can have autotune applied to their voices and on-the-fly digital retouching can be done during a live performance.

It's all completely manufactured (Beiber, I'm talkin' about you.)

However, this is going too far.
Everyone gets a little obsessed with famous musicians now and then, but things get really weird when the famous musician is actually just a piece of software. Hatsune Miku is a rising star in Japan and abroad, singing catchy J-pop that matches her blue-green hair. She’s also a virtual avatar created by Crypton Media using Yamaha’s Vocaloid voice synthesizer. That hasn’t stopped her from amassing a legion of fans who really love her work. I mean really love it.

Wednesday, November 24, 2010 is national Opt-Out day.
It's the day ordinary citizens stand up for their rights, stand up for liberty, and protest the federal government's desire to virtually strip us naked or submit to an "enhanced pat down" that touches people's breasts and genitals. You should never have to explain to your children, "Remember that no stranger can touch or see your private area, unless it's a government employee, then it's OK."

The goal of National Opt Out Day is to send a message to our lawmakers that we demand change. No naked body scanners, no government-approved groping. We have a right to privacy and buying a plane ticket should not mean that we're guilty until proven innocent. This day is needed because many people do not understand what they consent to when choosing to fly.
It's a real event! There's even a t-shirt!

Only the Lonely

This blog post by Roger Ebert is one of the finest set of words I've ever come across. I can only excerpt a tiny bit, but please read the whole thing because he, (like us;-), includes lots of salient, beautiful music.
All the lonely people

Lonely people have a natural affinity for the internet. It's always there waiting, patient, flexible, suitable for every mood.
[...]
What do lonely people desire? Companionship. Love. Recognition. Entertainment. Camaraderie. Distraction.

Encouragement. Change. Feedback. Someone once said the fundamental reason we get married is because have a universal human need for a witness. All of these are possibilities. But what all lonely people share is a desire not to be -- or at least not to feel -- alone.
Seriously, read the whole thing, it's a short short story in a blog post. It's a beautiful comment on our human condition.

And the music is great too. He just forgot one song.

The new sophistry of using the word murder instead of kill to ascribe the death penalty…

posted by Bill Arnett @ 1:03 PM Permalink

…most, if not all, of our astute readers have heard in the MSM of the home invasion killings in Connecticut that has just resulted in the conviction of one for the killing of three. Ordinarily such a matter would not concern me - that's life and it ain't always pretty - but the comments of an elderly family member (who's relationship or right to speak on this matter would never be infringed upon by me) made what to me was a jaw-dropping point without a distinction while falsely claiming that American Law is based upon the Ten Commandments.

Paraphrasing slightly, but very close to what the gentleman said, "It's time to prove now that our laws are based on the Ten Commandments. The first Commandment says, 'Thou shalt not kill…" but I have learned through my readings that the Jewish word for kill is exactly the same as the Jewish word for murder, so what the First Commandment is really saying is that, "Thou shalt not murder," and not that thou shalt not kill.

My first thought was, "Wow! What a way to weasel your way around being 'pro-life' never-abort-a-baby-for-any-reason-even-if-the-mother's-health-is-in-dire-straights-and-or-the-baby-is-the-result-of-rape-or-incest and yet still reconcile a belief that "murderers" should die, leaving the clear implication that not all 'killings' are murders.

I have long wondered how people could hold two completely opposite principles, claim to support them both, yet ignore the fact that it matters not who does the killing or the murdering, another member of society is dead at the hands of society's agent or an independently acting agent.

So, though it's not necessarily germane here, I can only suppose this is the new rationale of the right that all baby-murderers MUST be 'killed' (not 'murdered'); a point without a distinction if I ever heard one.

I know that I am mixing together two entirely different matters, murder vs. abortion, but it's interesting to me to witness the sophistry used by teabaggers, gop-ers, the conservative religious right, and people personally affected by atrocious events not of their doing.

NOTE: Please don't get me wrong. I personally believe in both the right of a woman to choose to do as she will with her body and the death penalty. My stance on the death penalty is shocking to some people as I not only believe in it's use I believe it should be expanded to cover many, many more crimes than it does now. To me any crime of moral turpitude against children and women should result in the offenders death simply to remove the offender from the gene pool if for no other reason. Why should they live, be allowed to procreate, and make more monsters?

Ciao, bella ámi.

posted by The Vidiot @ 7:15 AM Permalink

First, the Yin (and this one made me LOL):
The Texas lawmaker who apologized to BP for the US government's insistence that the oil giant set up a fund to compensate oil spill victims may soon be the most powerful voice in the House on US energy policy.

and now the Yang:
Ron Paul is slated to [Chair Monetary Policy Subcommittee], giving him some actual power and a megaphone on the issue dearest to his heart.

Well, didz I call it right or didz I call it…

wrong?

I'll let you readers decide, but I must immodestly point out there were NO LANDSLIDES coming out of this election, no MANDATES sent by an overwhelming number of citizens.

The teabaggers/gop won even fewer seats than what normal expectations would provide in normal circumstances, and COULDN'T EVEN MUSTER A SIMPLE MAJORITY IN THE SEMATE and their attaining a slim majority in the House is a hollow victory as they DO NOT HAVE A VETO-PROOF MAJORITY. Effectively NOTHING has changed.

Let's us forever keep these two entities (actually just one that pretends the other is spontaneous) irrevocably tied together: TEABAGGING GOP! TEABAGGING GOP! GOP TEABAGGER! GOP TEABAGGING!

Let's superglue them at the hips.

So there. B

A long, long time ago...

posted by Bill Arnett @ 3:00 PM Permalink

…I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

But November made me shiver
With every ballot I’d deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.

So bye-bye, Miss American Pie.
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."
Quoted illiberally from Don McCLean's monster hit, "American Pie".

Today just may be one of the most disastrous, or one of the happiest, days in American history: any votes giving any teabagger, a gateway ballot drug fostered, brewed, brought to fruition, and cursed by the Republican Party that for the first time has a chance of electing patsies who will willingly destroy America, the American Way, and end the American Dream will bear the mark of Satan. The GOP will will relish feeding off their own bottom feeders, buffoons, rednecks, holy-rollin', choir singing, overtly bigoted and racist scum that will provide the GOP with yet another chance to encourage the poor, the hungry, the ill, the infirm, and the elderly amongst us to vote against their best interest. And they will be ever ready to both blame and cite the teabaggers as the harbingers of a new America, run by people who mostly never picked up a gun in Americans defense from cowardice and the choice to make political inroads to their own fiefdom they will construct from the ashes of the America of old.

A house built of ashes no longer needs to be divided to fail to stand. The merest of gentle breezes will suffice to bring down such a house; no outside influences need pertain - the splitting asunder of America is the goal of the teabaggers and republicans who wish to do all the things Obama has done, but without the know-how, intelligence, good and kind spirit, and willingness to seek compromise or play well with others. Or one wit of care by their leadership.

If the teabaggers/GOP loses seats or fails to obtain the hugh numbers of seats they fantasize about (hunched in a corner or dark place, pants around their knees, until, totally amazed that masturbat jerking off could possibly be so good until they look down and see a fellow conservative doing them and signaling that they expect reciprocity…) then the face of America may again turn to good works, care for all, diminishment of a military budget eating the country alive, the saving of Social Security and Medicare and all the other beneficial programs America has now thanks to efforts of the Democratic Party and a very few republicans of conscience.

It strikes me, curiously, that here we are almost halfway through the day and I don't hear any teabaggers/rooster GOP members out crowing about any of massive, landslide wins they have promised America. I have heard of the complaints filed against teabaggers for interfering at voting places; nothing new here.

Could it be that many Americans are like me who, when listening to either of these dysfunctional parties, locks up the good silverware, hides the women and the cash, barricades the door, arms all alarm systems, and places all the weapons in strategic locations. (I don't own any guns but anyone stupid enough to enter my home without permission will find that I do have genuine damascus swords and dozens of knives made of the world's finest steels by some of the worlds great knife smiths and I know how to use 'em. If you tossed an apple in the air in front of me it would be peeled, cored, and quartered before it hit the ground;.)

So here's my best wishes that Americans, true Americans and patriots, will get out and vote in great enough numbers to end the evil wishes and wares of teabaggers and the GOP.Let's get it together and expose the charade of the teabaggers and GOP.

And one last thing, anyone claiming that Meg Whitman will be elected California Governor has missed, or pretends not to have seen, the crashing fall of the Great (Non) American Hero, Arnold, who has screwed this state up so badly the economy here may never recover - and if Whitman wins it never will.

Fiona's view of the rally.

posted by The Vidiot @ 2:50 PM Permalink

Fiona is my mom's best friend. She was also my ballet teacher sometime back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Anyway, she went to the Stewart/Colbert thing this weekend and here's her take:
In order to keep America alive we saw the necessity to keep satire alive. Attending the Stewart/Colbert rally on Saturday gave us hope. Being 75, sight impaired and short made it easy for me to maneuver my way to the fence and in view of the screen while three much taller teenage girls who had flown in from Washington state had no trouble nor qualms about pushing into the spaces that were vacated by the bravetree climbers. (much to the audible chagrin of those who moved in and set up camp very early Saturday morning.) I realized my value when i had to identify Fr. Guido Sarducci and Tony Bennett.

The show was funny and filled with lots of talent. The only blatant political message was a man holding a sign that said "Palin-Baltimore." Signs and t-shirts were clever: "I am an extreme moderate", "FOX news keeps fear alive". "Girls gone mild", and on the backs of two pre-teens: "FOX News gets its news here" followed by arrows pointing unmistakably to their derrieres.
There is a power in satire and intelligence is a necessary ingredient to appreciate it.

The rally - we got it!
