C.I.A. Director Porter Goss Resigns

WASHINGTON, May 5 — Porter J. Goss abruptly resigned today as director of the Central Intelligence Agency, a post that had been diminished in the restructuring of the intelligence bureaucracy after the Sept. 11 attacks.
Maybe he just wants to spend more time with his family ... or it could be because of this:
A corruption scandal involving Republicans in Congress, CIA officials, prostitutes on Capitol Hill, and defense contracts has begun to spread.
At least the the pros and ho's were transported in style:
The car service, Shirlington Limousine and Transportation Service, won a $21.2 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security in 2005, said Larry Orluskie, a Homeland Security spokesman.
WTF!? $21 Mil for a limo service? Well if it's for DHS it must be a very secure limo service, right? Hah!
Another piece of the puzzle is Shirlington Limousine and Transportation Inc., the firm that Wilkes used to "transport congressmen, CIA officials, and perhaps prostitutes to his Washington parties." Shirlington's president, Christopher Baker, has a "lengthy history of illegal activity," detailed in his 62-page rap-sheet which "runs from at least 1979 through 1989 and lists charges of petty larceny, robbery, receiving stolen goods, assault, and more."
But how could this happen?
A spokesman for the department did announce that Homeland Security routinely does not conduct background checks on its contractors.
Homeland Security doesn't do security checks on companies they hire!? 'Tain't funny McGee.
