Here's what I'm talking about

While this is totally cool and all:
Excerpt: For the first time astronomers have discovered a planet outside our solar system that is potentially habitable, with Earth-like temperatures, a find researchers described Tuesday as a big step in the search for "life in the universe.
Is there a reason why that story has eclipsed the fact that articles of impeachment have been filed against the Vice President of the United States, Dick Cheney??!!!

Just Asking.

Update:
Here are two (one, two) blog entries worth reading about the discovery. {sigh} Might as well give into it.

um. . . science news that in the long run affects the future of humanity might be a little more significant than articles of impeachment that (1) aren't going anywhere beyond getting Kucinich a little news and (2) even if they did would have a tiny impact on human history considering Cheney no longer has much power and will be almost out of office by the time they would go anywhere. It's great Kucinich is challenging Cheney, but . . . perspective.

I and many others have been waiting for this for 5 long years. A planet many light years away from here has absolutely no relevance, even though it's way cool to know about. It should be relegated to the back pages, page A17 if you will, and shouldn't be taking up space (pun intended) on the front page.
