White House reveals more lies told to Americans

How many times have we heard from the bush maladministration that three-quarters of al-Qaeda's leadership has been killed? How many "number two" leaders of al-Qaeda in Iraq have been killed? How many times have we heard the BS coming from bush propaganda as to how badly we have damaged a-Q by killing them in Iraq, Afghanistan, and by our surrogates in Pakistan? How many times have we heard that "we're fightin' 'em over there so that we don't have to fight 'em here in America"? How many times a day or week or month do we get tallies from Iraq telling us how many terrorist have been killed?

Plenty, of course.

Now comes Fran Townsend, White House national homeland security advisor in the Boston Globe with a report that:
Al Qaeda remains the "most serious and dangerous" terrorism threat and is expected to boost attempts to place agents inside the United States, a new White House report said yesterday.

The report, titled "National Strategy for Homeland Security," said Al Qaeda has protected its top leadership, replenished operational lieutenants, and "regenerated a safe haven" in Pakistan's tribal areas.

Fran Townsend, White House homeland security adviser, asked whether Al Qaeda infiltration efforts were underway, replied: "There's no question. They're not only underway, they're ongoing and have been."[…]

"Although we have discovered only a handful of individuals in the United States with ties to Al Qaeda senior leadership, the group likely will intensify its efforts to place operatives here in the homeland," it said.[…]

Al Qaeda was expected to continue to enhance its ability to attack the United States through greater cooperation with regional extremist groups, particularly Al Qaeda in Iraq, the report said.
Obviously the reports of how much damage we have done to a-Q has either been greatly exaggerated or were outright lies.

Obviously Pakistan has not been our great "partner" in fighting terrorism.

Obviously battling a-Q in Iraq has not prevented terrorists from coming to the U.S., with more expected to follow.

Obviously Iraq is being used as a killing field where terrorist operatives can learn the tricks of the trade to enhance their ability to strike us again.

Obviously the GOP, Republican Party, Conservatives, Neocons, Reaganites, bushies, or whatever else they choose to call themselves today have not protected the country, 9-11 occurred on their watch, they ignored the warnings, they failed to take the steps necessary to protect America from a terrorist attack, they are currently continuing to fail us all with their persistent and pernicious lies about how well they are protecting us, and obviously, from the sub-text of this article, they will not now nor ever be able to prevent future attacks in America.

Will somebody lie to me again and tell me how great these a$$e$ are at defense, please?
