One reason why a lot of people die from Israeli lies…

From Huffington Post:
A hawkish faction in Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's coalition pulled out of the government on Wednesday, weakening him at a time when he needs broad support to reach a peace deal with the Palestinians by the end of the year.

The withdrawal of Yisrael Beiteinu's 11 lawmakers from the government leaves Olmert with a narrower majority of 67 in the 120-seat parliament.

"Negotiations on the basis of land for peace is a fatal mistake," Avigdor Lieberman, head of the faction, told a news conference.

After Lieberman's announcement, Olmert's office released a statement saying the prime minister was determined to pursue peacemaking.[…]

"If we pull back to the 1967 borders, everyone should ask himself, what will happen the following day," Lieberman said. "Will the conflict stop, will the terror stop? Nothing will change."
Only the Israelis could interpret returning land to its lawful owner to be, "…a fatal mistake."

They stole the lands of Palestinians and just refuse to return it in spite of UN Resolution 242 from 1967, where it commands:
Affirms that the fulfillment of Charter principles requires the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East which should include the application of both the following principles:

Withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict;
Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force;

Affirms further the necessity
For guaranteeing freedom of navigation through international waterways in the area;
For achieving a just settlement of the refugee problem;
For guaranteeing the territorial inviolability and political independence of every State in the area, through measures including the establishment of demilitarized zones;
Yeah, everyone wants the UN to be tough enough to enforce its resolutions, and there have been "conflicts" since 1967 because nations failed to obey Security Council Resolutions, most notably Iraq, and now bush seeks harsher measures or nukular war with Iran for their failure to obey.

Why is Israel not severely sanctioned or attacked for their failure to obey Resolution 242? 'Cause they are Caucasian? 'Cause they buy weapons from us? 'Cause they get billions and billions of dollars in aid from us to build more illegal settlements? 'Cause they have a boatload of nukular weapons with which to do our bidding and act as our surrogate to insure Palestinians are locked out of both their ancestral lands and their own government? 'Cause they, too, apparently would rather kill Muslims instead of dealing with them honestly and returning stolen land?

Or is it because they can attack other countries in the region with American weapons and support American hegemony in that part of the world?

And what a coincidence that they seized and since 1967 have refused to return some of the most fertile land in the Middle East.

Curious minds want to know why they are exempt from the commands of the UN Security Council and can disobey that Council's resolutions with absolute impunity.

Just wondering.
