What a difference, huh?

So, as expected, Obama won.

What I'm most struck by are the crowds in the streets, cheering "Obama. Obama." Times Square was packed, as was Harlem and the Lower East Side; people cheering and dancing in the streets.

That sure as shit didn't happen in 2000 and 2004.

Update: I almost forgot I wanted to post this. From a friend (so I don't know where he got the info):
Next year, will be the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birthday.
Festivities will include the reopening of Ford's Theatre after restoration
and a special joint session of Congress on the birthday. On May 30, the new
president will rededicate the Lincoln Memorial. Interestingly, it will be
87 years since the Memorial's initial dedication (i.e., four score and seven
years ago...).

More interestingly, think about what the baby born two-hundred years
witnessed and accomplished in his lifetime through the Civil War. Now,
imagine Obama standing next to the memorial in May 2009
