Proof that politicians are out of touch.

Giuliani is delusional.
Excerpt: Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor whose popularity soared after his response to the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, moved closer to a full-fledged campaign for the Republican presidential nomination on Monday.
There's NO WAY this guy can become president. 3 marriages (2 affairs). First marriage was to a cousin. Father was "connected" ifyouknowwhatimean. Bernie Kerik? Disney owns Times Square? Enforcement of the cabaret laws? Police state NYC? I mean, what kind of bubble do you have to live in to think you can win, let alone run, with a background like that?

3 marriages and 2 affairs.

Thats a wash, Clinton had fewer marriages but more affairs. Big deal.

He cut the NYC murder rate in half. The rest is small potatoes.

Yeah, but it's the WAY he did it that's disturbing. Strictly through law enforcment and not through addressing what was really causing the crime... poverty. Basically, what happened is he opened the city up to Walt Disney et al and all the affordable rents moved farther and farther out of the city. And not only that, fine, I'll give you that he was somewhat able to have an effect on the crime rate, but he didn't stop there. He just kept going and going and going until finally, NYC didn't feel like NYC anymore and it seemed more like a police state than not.

Bottom line though, it was his 9/11 "let's delay the elections for a year" that really has me worried. Anyone who would suspend elections like that SHOULD NOT be president.

Though, this discussion is moot since there's no way he'll get the nod since he's such a "liberal" republican.

Maybe he is of the opinion that the GOP will have their election-stealing mechanisms, which clearly failed the Rethugs last November, back into place and thoroughly entrenched in time for '08. Without successful massive "voter suppression" operations in effect, as in the past, I think it will be a few years before very many Rethugs win election or re-election strictly on their own merits (they have so few, ya know).

Gee, that's how I felt when Bush won the Primary. I was worried about "straight talk" McCain, but Bush? What a looser.
