WTF!?

With all the hullabaloo over healthcare, nobody really noticed this lovely peice of legislation:
The underlying bill combines $128 billion for overseas military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan with $498 billion for the rest of the Defense Department's budget. An analysis by congressional researchers puts the tally for Afghanistan at about $300 billion and for Iraq at more than $700 billion since Sept. 11, 2001 — totaling more than $1 trillion.
What will be getting for our money? A war with Iran perhaps?

Is the U.S. stepping up preparations for a possible attack on Iran's nuclear facilities?

The Pentagon is always making plans, but based on a little-noticed funding request recently sent to Congress, the answer to that question appears to be yes.

If they used our tax money for what it was supposed to be used for, things like roads and bridges, instead of using it to maintain hegemony, we'd all be a lot better off.

Goddam I miss the Cold War (TM, FedResrv), back then all we had to worry about was "duck-n-cover."

Yeah DanD, but that was before Cheney shot his duck hunting buddy in the face.

And the victim apologized.

Gosh, I miss the fear back then.

Ya' see? Now if Id'a suddenly found myself at the leading edge of a Cheney hunting trip, I woulda' 'least known how to duck-n-cover ... then all I woulda' needed to apologize for was getting missed (... maybe).
