I gotta’ hand it to the guy.

He’s tenacious. He’s like a pit bull with this Iran thing. He just can’t. Let. It. Go.
President Bush on Tuesday called on Iran to explain why it had a secretive nuclear weapons program, and warned that any such efforts must not be allowed to flourish "for the sake of world peace."
No matter what the NIE says, no matter what the reams and reams of vetted documents show, the guy still says Iran has a nuke program. It would be the most amazing thing to watch if it weren’t so dangerous.
Our commander-in-chief is so fanatical for war against Iran that, as investigative reporter Seymour Hersh wrote earlier this year in The New Yorker, there’s a special planning group under the Joint Chiefs of Staff organized to plot one. Hersh quotes a former intelligence official stating the group is “charged with creating a contingency bombing plan for Iran that can be implemented upon orders from the President, within 24 hours.”
The rest of the world must be stunned. They must just look at him like he’s some sort of crazy cracker and wonder how the hell he got into office for not one, but two terms. I’d look at him the same way if I weren’t so embarrassed by him.

Now, Mr. Vidiot would argue that bush is just doing his job. His job is to make sure the power elite maintain their power status. The only way they can do that is through war. They don’t care about us, the ‘proles’ at all. What they do is not for our benefit and they know it. It’s not for show for us either. They don’t give a damn about that. No. Their prime objective is to maintain the system, maintain capitalism, maintain the power structure and to do that in any way possible. So while Bush seems delusional to us, he’s really quite sane and doing exactly what needs to be done.

While I understand Mr. Vidiot’s perspective, and I even agree with it, there is an addendum that he doesn’t include: the proles who support bush and his polices are the crazy ones. I mean, wow, they have to be nuttier than barrel of peanut butter.

And what do you think of the very popular view by a leading Israeli analyst Obadiah Shoher? He argues (here, for example, www. samsonblinded.org/blog/america-arranges-a-peace-deal-with-iran.htm ) that the Bush Administration made a deal with Iran: nuclear program in exchange for curtailing the Iranian support for Iraqi terrorists. His story seems plausible, isn't it?

While I haven't had the time to read the actual NIE, I doubt very much it's ridiculous, as this fellow states. Additionally, I doubt the administration would've allowed the NIE to be released since it's caused such a political backlash for them, what with all the lying being exposed. Additionally, I really don't believe that any major policy being made by this administration would do any harm to Israel. It's just not been their method of operation thus far.

That's my two cents.
