SOMEBODY has guaranteed that the financial bailout bill will pass…

…by making sure that there are not a sufficient number of Republicans to defeat any measure being considered today, thereby ensuring the consequences of any bill passed will fall upon the Democratic Party.

How? By having only 205 Republicans present when it takes a simple majority of 218 votes to pass any bill presented.

I'm certain that there many pitfalls and time bombs hidden within the 402 page Bush Billionaire Bailout Bill, which can now be passed in a manner where any problems contained within the bill falls strictly upon Democrats.

Three card monte anyone?

It is possible that more Republicans will show up for the final vote on this bill. Maybe just to once again defeat it to be able to claim that only the GOP is safeguarding American taxpayers.

Anyone for a game of craps with loaded dice? A came of chicken between a 1952 Volkswagon and an 18-wheeler carrying 60 thousand pounds of bricks?

Financial suicide at it's worst.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- The plight of an Ohio woman who shot herself as deputies tried evict her from her foreclosed home was part of congressional debate on the $700 billion bailout.

Addie Polk, 90, was being treated at Akron General Medical Center after shooting herself Wednesday as deputies were at her door with eviction papers, U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, said Friday during floor debate on the rescue plan for U.S. financial markets. Fannie Mae (NYSE:FNM) foreclosed Polk's home after acquiring the mortgage in 2007.

Kucinich used Polk's circumstances as he spoke against the rescue plan that eventually passed the U.S. House of Representatives 263-171.

"This bill does nothing for the Addie Polks of the world," Kucinich said. "This bill fails to address the fact that millions of homeowners who are facing foreclosure."
