Jon Stewart should win something for this.

Like maybe a giant Stuey doll or something. His take down of Jim Cramer was almost extremely satisfying. I, of course, can find fault with the fact that neither one of them addressed the underlying system failures or the institutional weaknesses with capitalism, but I'm just a nitpicker that way. All in all though, for what it was and the range of discourse it needed to fit into, it was pretty great.

Crooks and Liars has some early video and commentary and the missing 8 minutes can be found at the Comedy Cenral website here at some point today.

A sit-down like this should be done with every single talking head, every single politician, every single person responsible for wrecking the economy, torturing prisoners, poisoning our food and medicines, etc. and so forth. We could call it "Squirm TV." Wouldn't THAT make the boob-tube worth watching again?

UPDATE: Here's a link to the entire interview.

UPDATE 2: If you simply can't get enough, here's all the video along with the outtakes. I just watched the whole thing again to make sure I didn't miss anything and I'm so annoyed. Watching Cramer defend the indefensible is bad enough, but watching Stewart skirt around what I think is the real issue. He almost got it, a few times, where he said that our money is based on work and that our 401Ks were funding their adventures. But where it could've gone from there, but he didn't it take far enough, is that the whole monetary system is a ponzi scheme. Our money, our work, funds their livlihood. Money flows up, not down. They get rich off our backs and it's always been that way, it's just extremely obvious now... yet, nobody will say that, not even Jon.
