My thoughts on the G20

I've been reading and watching some of the crap coming out of the G20. One of the biggest things to come out of the meeting -- besides the inappropriate physical contact between the Queen and Michelle -- is the agreement they made to throw more money at the IMF basically tripling it's resources. Now, if you've been reading this blog for any length of time, you know I'm no fan of the Washington Consensus. What the IMF has done over the years is nothing short of genocide, not based on race, but on class.

See, the IMF dangles a big wad of cash in front of whomever, usually some despotic strong man the CIA has already placed at the head of some government, but also regular presidents, prime ministers or whomever who leads a country that is not handling capitalism all that well. That leader takes the money and agrees to the IMF's conditions for the money; namely, strong austerity measures such as cutting back on social programs like health care and schooling. Also they agree to privatize public utilities like oil, water and power. Of course, that money has to be paid back with interest and that ends up wrecking and enslaving the entire country. So, what the IMF ends up doing, in essence, is it makes life more difficult for the poor, and more wonderful for the rich. It also means that Western transnational corporations can swoop in and buy up and control a goodly portion of that countries natural resources, and by extension, its population.

People, this is capitalism's last shot at controlling every natural resource on the planet for the benefit of the few over the many. If they can't pull this off, they're done for. We know they'll pull it off for a while, just not forever. We can only hear about "what Michelle is wearing" for so long before we take to the streets and hang the bastards who are enslaving us.

Look at this slide show and look at this video clip and then tell me, who are the real criminals? The protesters or the cops? Look closely at the slide show, at about slide 17 or 18, there are pictures of the actual G20 meetings. Knowing what you know about the IMF, again, who are the real criminals? The protesters or the capitalists? And finally, knowing what you know, and seeing how many of us there are and how many police and capitalists there are, how long can they hold us back?
