We all live in a Russian submarine, a Russian submarine…

…a Russian submarine just like one of the two Russian attack subs stationed off the east coast of America in international waters, just cruising, observing, and who knows what else.

Any of our regular readers should remember that I have long been writing of the possibility of something just like this for some time now.

As America continues to grow weaker and weaker from the travesty of the bush/cheney years and now the senseless, crude, rude, and idiotic actions of the republican party signaling the greatest inner turmoil in at least two generations of Americans does not bode well for our future.

We're broke, with record unemployment, a broken military, massive numbers of foreclosed upon homes, a citizenry aroused by the frustration of finally electing a better government only to have the gop, in a fit of pique, stall congress, file endless amendments to bring needed legislation to a halt, stage phony 'citizen' protests of the health care bill we so desperately need, and actually openly praying for the government, under and because Obama is president, to fail and fail as badly as possible in order to attempt resurrection of their republican party.

A perfect recipe for allowing nations like Russia and China to begin planning an attack on America now while we are clearly at our weakest in generations.

See this article titled:
Russian Subs Patrolling Off East Coast of U.S.

A pair of nuclear-powered Russian attack submarines has been patrolling off the eastern seaboard of the United States in recent days, a rare mission that has raised concerns inside the Pentagon and intelligence agencies about a more assertive stance by the Russian military.

The episode has echoes of the cold war era, when the United States and the Soviet Union regularly parked submarines off each other’s coasts to steal military secrets, track the movements of their underwater fleets — and be poised for war.

But the collapse of the Soviet Union all but eliminated the ability of the Russian Navy to operate far from home ports, making the current submarine patrols thousands of miles from Russia more surprising for military officials and defense policy experts….

The submarines are of the Akula class, a counterpart to the Los Angeles class attack subs of the United States Navy, and not one of the larger submarines that can launch intercontinental nuclear missiles.

According to Defense Department officials, one of the Russian submarines remained in international waters on Tuesday about 200 miles off the coast of the United States. The location of the second remained unclear. One senior official said the second submarine traveled south in recent days toward Cuba, while another senior official with access to reports on the surveillance mission said it had sailed away in a northerly direction.

One of the submarines is the newer Akula II, officials said, which is quieter than the older variant and the most advanced in the Russian fleet. The Akula is capable of carrying torpedoes for attacking other submarines and surface vessels as well as missiles for striking targets on land and at sea.

Defense Department officials declined to speculate on which weapons might be aboard the two submarines.

“We’ve known where they were, and we’re not concerned about our ability to track the subs,” the official added. “We’re concerned just because they are there.
So, on the one hand we know where one sub is parked, and on the other hand, officials have no idea if the second sub is headed north to areas unknown or if it headed south towards Cuba. You just can't have it both ways: you either know where the second sub is or you don't, and from the mealy-mouthed manner in which officials are speaking they have no idea where the second sub is and no idea what armaments either or both subs may be carrying.

I don't know precisely how long it would take a nuke launched 200 miles off our coast to hit the ground somewhere in America, but I would guesstimate more than fifteen minutes but certainly less than a half-hour.

It is also entirely possible that the Chinese have subs parked off our west coast, but we wouldn't know as they have developed stealth submarines capable of approaching very, very close without being detected. Don't believe that? Read:
American military chiefs have been left dumbstruck by an undetected Chinese submarine popping up at the heart of a recent Pacific exercise and close to the vast U.S.S. Kitty Hawk - a 1,000ft supercarrier with 4,500 personnel on board.

By the time it surfaced the 160ft Song Class diesel-electric attack submarine is understood to have sailed within viable range for launching torpedoes or missiles at the carrier.

According to senior Nato officials the incident caused consternation in the U.S. Navy.

The Americans had no idea China’s fast-growing submarine fleet had reached such a level of sophistication, or that it posed such a threat.

snip…..The lone Chinese vessel slipped past at least a dozen other American warships which were supposed to protect the carrier from hostile aircraft or submarines.
The republican party is openly fomenting and advocating for what amounts to mini-riots to shout down democratic congressmen and senators at the behest of greed-obsessed corporations. These acts from a party openly advocating for the failure of Obama and, by extension, a lawfully elected American government may get their wishes in the form of thermonuclear weapons fired at us from such close range as to almost immediately disable our defenses. Thanks to republicans America does not have even ONE combat ready force stationed here in our own country while we spend endless sums of money and depleting our forces so badly as to almost render them completely useless.

Why does the republican party, neocons, gop, compassionate conservatives, and the religious right hate America so badly? Why don't they put their energy into helping improve government instead of tearing it down? Why is the gop now the 'hate party' seeking to drag America down with them as they sink into the mire of war and fear-mongering, deprivation of help for the ill, the poor, the infirm, and the children that are our future?

Where do they find the energy to be such total bastards?

Can't help but have flashbacks to one of the funniest movies - ever - depicting the average propaganda fed 'Murkins ... freaked out by freaked out Russian sub's sailors stuck off the coast of our Nor' Eastern shores.

"The Russians Are Coming" ring any bells?

Well, the cast is fabulous so I'll have to put it on my GreenCine queue.

The "idiot" part of this blog title is well placed.

Any person who believes anything Obama pushes is FOR the America we know and love, is in delusion.

Further, anyone caught in the battle to defend/promote/espouse one of the major political parties is in deeper delusion. They both serve the same rich, private policy, secret agenda cabal.

There are many prophecies (warnings) about a devastating nuclear attack on America via submarines. Why will God allow this? Open rebellion against God. Rejection of God in order to embrace corrupt living.

The only sentence containing the word "idiotic," not "idiot" written by me is:"As America continues to grow weaker and weaker from the travesty of the bush/cheney years and now the senseless, crude, rude, and idiotic actions of the republican party signaling the greatest inner turmoil in at least two generations of Americans does not bode well for our future."

There Is no mention whatever of the word idiot in the title of this blog post. If you are speaking of the blog as a whole, "VidiotSpeak," F.U.

I was mostly with you until you had the audacity, rudeness, and temerity to question my strongly held belief that there is not now, nor has there ever been an all-powerful "God" by stating, "Why will God allow this? Open rebellion against God. Rejection of God in order to embrace corrupt living." RWRF, eh?

Accusing me of open rebellion against something that does not exist in order to embrace corrupt living, without ever having met me, known me, and not knowing of the innumerable personal sacrifices I have made for this country an AGAINST corrupt living is just stupid. Oh! Yeah, insipid, too.

Let me turn that around correctly for you, "I'm not hiding behind a mythical figure to justify slaughtering entire civilizations, accumulating more wealth that any entity on earth (mostly artwork and jewels stoled from the Jews killed during the holocaust), with popes and priests eating off silver plates, drinking from gold chalices, wearing gold-brocaded robes while millions of those they purport to help lay dying in the street from homelessness, disease, exposure to the elements, or killed by those slightly above the food chain than themselves. Nor am I a person profiting by the trillions for killing other human beings.

Here I am, after a lifetime of public service, just to have some asshole that has no idea how I've lead my live and the sacrifices I have made personally to serve this country despite its predilection to worship little green men with warts on their wrinkled old faces wearing paper hats made for them by first-graders. (or are those gnomes? I always forget.)

That is what your "god" looks like isn't it? You are entitled to your opinion, but as to there being a "god" I'll be waiting (for a long, long, long time I bet) for you to provide a single smidgen, the tiniest iota, the very smallest of particles, the tiniest element constituting proof positive that your "god" exists.

You can ask ANY of my fellow writers on this blog and they will tell you that had you not so baselessly questioned my beliefs in so insulting a manner, I would never have considered questioning YOUR beliefs deliberately seeking to single out you or, IMO, the asininity of millions in believing in fairies in the sky or have made such a very, very, meager attempt to insult another after making such sweeping judgements regarding you or your closely held personal beliefs. Your beliefs are your beliefs, you are entitled to them, I went to war in Vietnam to insure you have them, and I would defend unto the death your right to hold them. But you really shouldn't use 'em to bludgeon or insult another's.

And if the title "VidiotSpeak" for this blog offends you, by ll means feel free to close your computer and pick up a comic book…uh… let's see, oh yeah! they call 'em graphic novels; but to paraphrase Billy Joel, "But they're still comic books to me."

In the mean time, do the letters F.O. and D. have any meaning for you?
