…are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Amendment 14 of the U.S. Constitution.

Arizona is planning to pass a law in blatant violation of this amendment in an effort to stop granting so-called "anchor babies", children of illegal aliens, the citizenship and protections under the law that is the right of every person born in America.

It is interesting that the portion of this amendment stating, "…nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." does not in any way distinguish or allow a different standard to apply to non-citizens, illegal aliens, prisoners held by the military, nor any other class of "person(s)" whatever.

This, the utter flaunting of constitutional provisions and amendments, is exactly what is destroying America and the American Dream. I am mortified at the actions of the citizens of Arizona through their lawfully elected leaders.

Maybe Arizona should be expelled from our union, maybe we should cease extending the protections of the constitution to its citizens and build a thirty foot tall border fence around the entire state and, further, prohibit any Arizonan from claiming to be a citizen of these United States or able to invoke any protection under the provisions of the 14th Amendment.

If they are wont to continually violate the constitution and its amendments as ratified by at least two-thirds of the states then extant, why shouldn't we?

But this is only my opinion and I could be wrong.
