Recruiting Nightmares

Update: How desperate is the military for more recruits? They want the soldiers already killed and wounded in Iraq to re-enlist.

Original post:
New guidelines released by the Pentagon released last month allow commanders to redeploy soldiers suffering from traumatic stress disorders.

the Army took in more recruits who posted the lowest score on the Defense Department's aptitude test, increased the maximum age for new soldiers and pumped $200 million into advertising and special events

I now believe that if gay men and lesbians served openly in the United States military, they would not undermine the efficacy of the armed forces. Our military has been stretched thin by our deployments in the Middle East, and we must welcome the service of any American who is willing and able to do the job.

The idea of signing up foreigners who are seeking US citizenship is gaining traction as a way to address a critical need for the Pentagon
Let's review shall we? We are so short of troops already that:
The mentally ill are being put back into combat.
The mentally and morally deficient are being accepted.
We have to recruit non-Americans to fill in the ranks.
And best of all, now the Army says not letting gays in the military was a bad idea. Not that there's anything wrong with that ... OK, there's something wrong with that, the only reason they are willing to accept gays is the same reason they are now accepting all of these folks they previously shunned. They are 'stretched thin.'

'Stretched thin' is a euphemism for 'we already killed and wounded about 30,000 Americans (of which, statistically speaking, 3000 were gay) for an illegal war and we need more fodder for the canon of Bush.'
