They just don't get it.

As you know, there was a steam pipe that went kaboom here in NYC yesterday. Many of the articles talked about how people reacted with regards to the post 9/11 environment. Some actually bothered to mention that our infrastructure is crumbling.
Excerpt: The American Society of Civil Engineers estimates that it will take $1.6 trillion over the next five years to get the nation's roads, bridges, dams, water systems, and airports into good condition.
NONE, however, made the connection between money being sucked up by the military industrial complex and our crumbling infrastructure.

Just for the sake of comparison, what is the estimated price tag for the war?
Excerpt: The Congressional Research Service report warns that costs could reach between $980 billion and $1.4 trillion by 2017 depending on troop levels.
Wow. We could almost pay for the repair of the ENTIRE nation's infrastructure.

Imagine my surprise.
