No truth gets told by this maladministration while our troops continue to die for bush's Oil War
posted by Bill Arnett @ 11:13 AM PermalinkRemember the "remarkable results" of bush's surge of troops into Iraq? The sudden fulfilling of promises to reduce casualties? The new spirit of cooperation of the Sunni's and the consequent reduction in violence as told to us in the breathless fairy tale of General Petraeus and Amb. Crocker last September? How last month American casualties were the lowest since the war began? Well, announcing the body counts of one or two months while hiding the rest just doesn't cut it anymore.
They all, the military, the president, the press, ALL of them have been blowing smoke up our collective arses.
From the Huffington Post:
The U.S. military on Tuesday announced the deaths of five more soldiers, making 2007 the deadliest year for U.S. troops despite a recent downturn, according to an Associated Press count. It seems to me that even the bush propaganda machine, at a cost of $2.8 billion a year, can't conceal the facts on the ground and that the truth will always come out.
At least 852 American military personnel have died in Iraq so far this year -- the highest annual toll since the war began in March 2003, according to AP figures.
