Florida has had a double Bush whammy: a president AND a governor. That's more Bush than anyone should have to deal with. So, I guess Firing a teacher for being a wizard is the state equivalent of curling up into the fetal position.A substitute teacher in Pasco County has lost his job after being accused of wizardry.Verily, I say, thee hast made a toothpick vanish before mine eyes and therefore, must indeed be a witch.

Of course not. Using a duck would be silly. Since it's Florida, they'll probably just use a pelican.
When I read the news article about this incident, it said that the substitute teacher himself made the charge that he'd been fired because of wizardry (because he'd done a simple magic trick for the students). But the school district said that he was not called back for substitute teaching because he did not follow the lesson plans/curriculum and had engaged in other infractions. The school district did not charge wizardry or state it as part of their reasons for letting him go.
You're right of course. But the funny version is well, just so much funnier!
From an article a few days ago:
""I said, 'Well Pat, can you explain this to me?' 'You've been accused of wizardry,' [he said]. Wizardry?" he asked."
He claims he was told that he was fired for wizardry.

Whatever issues there may have been with his performance as a teacher they were not enough to keep him out of the classroom on that magical day.
Somebody complains about his wizardry, and he is immediately terminated.
It's not that hard to make the obvious connection. If you want to call that a coincidence I've got a disappearing toothpick I can sell you for a nominal sum. You can use it to amaze people from Florida. Be ready to run, they may decide to burn you at the stake.
