posted by The Vidiot @ 9:34 AM Permalink If we weren't living in a greed-based, errr, I mean profit-based system, then this wouldn't happen.Just months after riding an incredible high, the recycling market has tanked almost in lockstep with the global economic meltdown. As consumer demand for autos, appliances and new homes dropped, so did the steel and pulp mills' demand for scrap, paper and other recyclables.If we has a society-based economic system, then recycling would be stepped up, to create jobs AND to make sure as many raw materials are recycled as possible.
