Random quotations from despicable people…

“Being in politics is like being a football coach. You have to be smart enough to understand the game, and dumb enough to think it's important.” Eugene McCarthy (Sounds kinda like Herr Field Marshall General Peter King after smoking paraquat-laden weed, man. That shit will fuck up your head, man, and just looking at him proves it. When ya get a head as misshapen as King's there just ain't no room for brains.

“The only thing that saves us from the bureaucracy is its inefficiency.” Eugene McCarthy. This is the true face of a political party run amok. In the Fifties it was a democratic Senator, but now the entire mantra has shifted to the teabagger-gop-er party.

“It is dangerous for a national candidate to say things that people might remember.” Eugene McCarthy
My, my that boy sure did a lot of talking.

“Dollars and guns are no substitutes for brains and will power”. Dwight Eisenhower, the last great republican politician. I'd bet he's spinning like a top in his grave over the heartbreaking shenanigans of todays politicians.

“You don't lead by hitting people over the head-that's assault, not leadership.” Eisenhower again. Too bad the republican party abandoned all pretense at civility and instead devolved into the teabagger-gop-ers.

“To err is human, to blame it on the other party is politics”. Unknown. Strange how the more different we seem, the more we are all the same.

NOTE: Dads get to brag about their sons, so I unblushingly report that my son received a letter and Certificate placing him on the Dean's List at SFSU. I don't think it means he can take charge of California immediately - I think there's something in the fine print requiring him to give our current governor thirty days notice first. And, by the way, he's not cruising along on a light schedule, he's carrying a full boat + extra courses. I think it would be nearly impossible for me to feel anymore proud than I feel right now
